Welcome to First Baptist Church, Lafayette, Tennessee

We are a family of people committed to following Jesus. We worship Him with reverence and joy. We encourage prayer and the reading of God’s Word in church and throughout daily life. We love people the way Christ loved us (John 13:34), in and outside the church.

Our hope is that all people will feel loved and welcomed at First Baptist Church. And once here, we pray that people will meet God. As a result of meeting God, give their lives to Jesus Christ. We want that for you. Come as you are. Check us out, but more importantly, seek the truth of God that can only be known when one knows Jesus.

While you are browsing our website, you will learn about our programs and get a glimpse of who we are, but only a small glimpse. To fully understand us, come to a worship service or a study night, and feel the up-close, in-person fellowship that is acquired when people share time together with the Holy Spirit present. Enjoy the website, then come. We’d love to meet you and know you.

Welcome to the First Baptist Church website. I am glad you have chosen to spend a few moments looking around and discovering our church family. As I describe First Baptist to people, I use words like love, family, and friends.

First Baptist Services

First Baptist is a Christ-centered, intergenerational ministry. Sunday morning services incorporate a casual atmosphere, a blended style of praise and worship music, and Biblical text driven preaching and teaching. We are a loving church that ministers to all ages and backgrounds: families, singles, and youth.

What makes the church special, however, is its caring and gracious spirit ― a spirit directly attributable to Christ’s presence in the life of the church and the people.
